Physician, Educator, and Club Locators
Many resources are available to help you assemble and work with your healthcare team to get you started on the path to improved blood glucose control through insulin pump therapy.
Physicians and Educators
Canadian
Diabetes Association
Established over 50 years ago, the Canadian
Diabetes Association is a charitable organization that has grown to include a
presence in more than 150 communities across the country. The Canadian
Diabetes Association promotes the health of Canadians through diabetes
research, education, service and advocacy.
Canadian
Health Network
The Canadian Health Network (CHN) is a growing
network, bringing together the best information resources of leading Canadian
and international health organizations.
Pump Clubs
There are several ways to find other insulin pump users. Ask your Disetronic Representative or your healthcare team about pump clubs of which they may be aware. The internet is also a valuable resource for contacting pump users by conducting searches and viewing sites like Insulin Pumpers at www.insulin-pumpers.ca.
Insulin-Pumpers
Canada
Insulin Pumpers Canada began in May 2001, as Insulin
Pumpers Nova Scotia, and began as a support group for people who were using
insulin pump therapy for themselves or their children and as an information
source for people interested in insulin pump therapy. Insulin pumpers Canada
is not affiliated with any pump company. They seek to fill the void between
what medical professionals can do for insulin dependent diabetics and what
people who use insulin pumps require in order to optimize their blood glucose
control and quality of life by effectively utilizing the insulin pump.
